Overview: |
FHR provides post-graduate training and education in Governance, Management and Law. Its programs target current and aspiring executives and managers in private, public and civil society organizations. They aim at guiding participants through a process of academic learning and professional and social skills training to become highly competent professionals. All programs are policy oriented with an international, third world and comparative perspective and are balanced in terms of academic and professional workplace relevance. They all have a modular build-up and teaching consists of lectures and active learning by way of case studies, study group exercises, outside class assignments and independent research. |

FHR offers a scala of learning opportunities: Master Programs (17 months, part-time), Diploma Programs, (12 months, part-time), Executive Courses (1 week), and Executive Seminars (1 day). In general the programs target young professionals, managers and mid career executives from different types of organizations including small and medium enterprises, parastatals, multinationals, governmental organizations and NGO’s. FHR currently operates three Post Graduate Schools:
Apart from these programs, FHR offers an Executive Program which consists of Executive Courses and Executive Seminars. They are grouped (6 Executive Courses and 10 Executive Seminars) and delivered around a particular theme or topic. |

Organization: |
The Director Dean at FHR is responsible for the general oversight and the final results of the Programs. He shares the responsibility for the standards and for development of the curricula with the Course Director who's prime responsibility is quality control to ensure that the Programs meet the objectives of FHR and its partner organizations and the expectations of the Participants and their sponsors. The Program Administrators at FHR are responsible for handling the MPA, MBA, Diploma and Executive Programs. The Program Administrators are responsible for the organization, coordination, scheduling and administration of the Programs. They act as the day-to-day focal points of the participants, the lecturers and the part organizations. |

Application: |
Most Executive Courses and Executive Seminars have an open access policy. As all courses are given in English, proficiency in English is a must. To participate in the Master programs and Diploma programs, the following requirements have to be met*):
**) The Advanced Teacher Training Institute in Suriname (IOL), in cooperation with FHR will provide applicants the opportunity to take a TOEFL equivalent Test of English Proficiency (TEP). |

Graduation: |
Most Executive Courses and Executive Seminars result in a certificate and diploma programs are concluded with a post graduate diploma. Upon successful completion of an entire masters program participants receive a master’s degree. Evaluation of performance of participants is based on written examinations, class presentations, group or individual written assignments, tests results and class participation. The passing score for any subject is 60/100 or above. Candidates without any mark below 70/100 and with an average of 80/100 or above will receive the diploma or degree ‘with distinction’. |
