The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) is an internationally renowned postgraduate school of social science teaching and research in the field of development studies established in the Netherlands. Founded in 1952, ISS is one of Europe’s leading centres in this field. It generates, accumulates and transfers knowledge and know-how on human aspects of economic and social change, with a focus on development and transition. The Institute works with and for a multicultural community in a dynamic environment, stimulating open dialogue and the exchange of experience of development issues among participants and staff. This MPA in Governance deals with the multiple processes through which public goods, such as the rule of law, democracy and economic stability are being provided in a developing context like Suriname. |
